A Maiden's Prayer by D. J. Russell (Jan 2011)
Money is a useless thing
For those whose soul still seeks
A love which in the golden Spring
Blossoms like a rose upon the cheeks.
I ask for naught but a plain and gentle face
O’er the beauty that others crave.
I would never trade a dancer’s grace
For this heart that’s strong and brave.
Grant me a love that warms my heart,
Not one that burns and fades away.
Make it a love which will never part.
This, to My God, I pray.
